Founded in 2002, Imeca is a leading retail company in the Lumber & Hardware sector, with over 30 stores across Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and an international presence in Panama and Venezuela.

We collaborated with Imeca on the development, design, production, and implementation of their Ecommerce platform

Immersion and Initial Assessment

The project began by establishing clear objectives, which were translated into actionable KPIs. These KPIs served as a roadmap throughout the entire development process, ensuring alignment with business goals.

Competitive Analysis

In this phase, we conducted a comprehensive market analysis, positioning Imeca relative to its competitors while aligning the aspirational “want to be” with the realistic “can be.” Based on these insights, we identified the strategic niche to target.

User-Centric Differentiation

To stand out from competitors, we identified key areas for improvement and introduced innovative features designed to enhance the user experience. This focus on differentiation ensured the platform not only met but exceeded customer expectations, solidifying Imeca's position as a market leader in the sector.

The selected platform was Adobe Commerce (Magento) due to its seamless integration capabilities with existing systems, its flexibility to accommodate custom design requirements, and its scalability to meet the evolving demands of the business.

Building on the previously identified improvement points, we designed a website where everything is just a few clicks away—a challenge given the extensive range of product categories the company offers.

To achieve this, we implemented multiple access points, available across various sections of the site: from the dropdown menu in the main navigation bar, within the site’s body, ensuring high visibility, through curated "favorite brand combos," offering users a seamless and intuitive browsing experience.

Given the variety of delivery and pickup options across numerous locations, the store locator section plays a key role. We designed four user-friendly search methods: by list, location, distance, and name.
